Some essential tips to consider while Scuba Diving…


  1. Physical Fitness
  2. Follow all the instructions given by the instructor. Ensure to have a proper training in scuba diving.
  3. Maintain a distance from marine lives, especially those with vicious stings. Do not touch the aquatic animals without guide’s permission.
  4. Don’t try to grab/ride the sea animals or obstruct their path.
  5. No touching of rocks down there unless guide permits. You might get hurt by the rock-fish.
  6. Taking off a coral is a legal offence, one should avoid it if you don’t like to be behind the bars.

What are the medical conditions that impede diving?

Any medical condition that affects your respiratory or cardiovascular systems and which may make you suddenly and unexpectedly unable to respond quickly or at all, could potential indicate that you cannot dive. A few of them like are asthma, epilepsy, diabetes and heart disease. If you have any of these or other similar illnesses then it’s better to consult a doctor before diving. Scuba diving is not recommended for people with the following conditions:


  • Individual(s) having problems in breathing.
  • Individual(s) with ear problems or people who have had ear surgery in the last 12 months.
  • People with a cold, flu or congestion. It is not recommended that people with cough/cold take decongestion medication in order to dive, as this can wear off underwater and cause problems while ascending to the surface.

The other conditions where an individual may be required/asked to see a doctor include (but are not limited to):

  • A history of heart or lung disease.
  • An unexplained loss of consciousness or “blackout”.
  • A recent history of nausea or vomiting.
  • The use of prescription or non-prescription medications.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Repeated trouble clearing air spaces (equalization).
